Get out on the trails this winter

Looking for trails to cross-country ski this winter? Want to find trails ideal for wildlife watching? Explore Cornell Botanic Gardens' trails with, a new website for outdoor enthusiasts that allows users to search the 240 miles of trails throughout Tompkins County. Search for trails based on distance, difficulty and trail attributes such as biking, cross-country skiing, gorges, lake views or unique wildlife viewing. The site provides directions to trailheads and parking.

For instance:

  • Take a winter hike at Edwards Lake Cliffs and enjoy an expansive view of Cayuga Lake.
  • Cross-country ski in the F. R. Newman Arboretum.
  • Take a longer winter hike following Fall Creek through gardens and natural areas within Cornell Botanic Gardens on the Cayuga Trail.
