Cooking Demonstration: Stir Fry Basics
With or without a wok, Beth McKinney, RDN, will demonstrate three Asian style dishes, May 6, noon-1 p.m., 360 Martha Van Rensselaer. If you’ve always wanted to cook with tofu, now’s your chance. Dishes will include one fish, one tofu and one chicken. Samples will be provided to all participants. Register here

Breastfeeding Basics
In this workshop, May 6, 4-5:30 p.m., at 140 East Hill Office Building, participants will learn the fundamentals of successful breastfeeding, including holding techniques, latching on, maximizing comfort and the basics of pumping.

Tompkins County Public Library hosts Cornell Raptor Program
Children and families are invited to launch their spring breaks with a high-flying presentation by the Cornell Raptor Program, April 24 at 3 p.m. in the BorgWarner Community Room.

Student presenters will provide a fun-filled, educational program entitled "Birds of Prey."  Through informative presentations, students will introduce a variety of live birds, including hawks and vultures, and inspire children to learn about birds of prey, the natural world and global and local conservation issues impacting bird habitats.

This program is free and open to families with children ages 5 and up.

Art-full Family Day: Journey to Japan
Investigate the Morgan Japanese Garden at the Art-full Family Day, May 7, 10 a.m.-noon, at the Johnson Museum, learn more about the samurai armor in the visible storage gallery, and make a gyotaku fish print. Recommended for preschool age and up. Free for Johnson Museum members/$5 per family for nonmembers. Space is limited. Pumping with Success and Returning to Work as a Breastfeeding Mother
Participants at this workshop, May 20, 4-5:30 p.m., 140 East Hill Office Building, will learn about the various pumps available, how to select a pump, when to begin pumping, and the fundamentals of pumping techniques. They also will learn about building up a freezer supply for the return to work, when to introduce the bottle and information on juggling breastfeeding and work. Participants will also learn about the Cornell policy on lactation accommodations and resources available.
